Divya Delhi:The former WWE Chairman discussed Hogan's most controversial period and why he never thought he was a racist. Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan's decades-long partnership made professional wrestling a global spectacle. The former WWE Chairman spoke candidly with TMZ on Fox on Tuesday, August 12, about one of Hogan's most controversial chapters and why he never thought the Hulkster was a racist. McMahon said, “It was unforgivable, and I was, like, aghast,” of Hogan's 2015 WWE ban after leaked recordings showed him uttering racial insults. That’s unlike him. What the heck is going on? WWE quickly cut ties and removed Hogan from its Hall of Fame after the controversy. “You just don’t do those things,” McMahon said. “I knew he wasn’t racist. So many years with him. He paid for his bigoted remarks. Ultimately, everyone saw Terry Bollea as Hulk Hogan and understood he's not racist. All humans make mistakes. That was big, but he wasn't racist." Long-lasting fallout. WWE returned Hogan to the Hall of Fame in 2018, but he remained controversial. He was booed at his final WWE appearance, the Netflix premiere of Monday Night Raw, a decade after the controversy.
