This significant day emphasizes how vital it is to reduce the danger of contracting certain foodborne illnesses. It also seeks to improve food safety procedures worldwide, including those related to food delivery, preparation, storage, and consumption. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that each year, 4.2 lakh people die from various foodborne infections. In the meantime, "Food safety: science in action" is this year's theme. Before handling food, wash your hands. Fruits and vegetables should always be cleaned. Cook food thoroughly and to the proper temperatures. Steer clear of cross-contamination Store leftovers in the refrigerator. Check expiration and "Best Before" dates as soon as possible. Drink safe water to stay hydrated. Only allow hygienic vendors to sell street food.Properly store food and teach others about food safety.
