Divya Delhi : In a thrilling five-set match on Centre Court, veteran Italian Fabio Fognini challenged Carlos Alcaraz's attempt for a third Wimbledon crown. After winning the Queen's Club title and the French Open, the 2023 and 2024 Wimbledon winner was a heavy favorite in the first round. But the contest had other ideas. Alcaraz struggled defensively, with timing and shot selection often off. Alcaraz's unsteadiness was criticized, with Tim Henman being particularly harsh. Henman criticized the 21-year-old's attention and consistency on BBC One, citing his lack of rhythm and excessive errors. "I am shocked by his bad execution and reactions. I cannot believe he is missing shots. His coaching staff is concerned. He was careless. He has consistently set up points and made unforced blunders "said Henman. He keeps complicating his life. Henman was confused by Alcaraz's odd performance, which included simple misses. "I've never seen him so disorganized. This was not meant to happen. I've never seen Carlos Alcaraz that disorganized onstage."
