Divya Delhi:  After being caught at Bengaluru Airport with 14.8 kilograms of gold, Kannada actress Ranya Rao has created uproar. She was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday evening for smuggling Dubai gold. DRI made the arrest. An economic offenses court sentenced her to 14 days in jail. Ranya Rao, 33, is an Indian actress and model. She works mostly in South Indian films. Maanikya, a 2014 Kannada film, was her acting debut. She is from Chikmagalur, Karnataka. She finished school in Bengaluru. She graduated from Bangalore's Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. Runya is the stepdaughter of Karnataka's senior IPS officer K. Ramachandra Rao. He is DGP of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation. Sudeep signed her in 2014 for his Kannada feature ‘Maanikya.’ Critics were divided on her performance.
