Divya Delhi: Most of the Kashmir Valley has seen intermittent showers since Monday morning, ending the month-long hot and dry weather. This weather pattern change has lowered temperatures by several degrees, relieving Kashmiris of the sweltering heat. Several locations have seen abrupt cloudbursts, landslides, and waterlogging. A sudden cloudburst caused flash floods in Mantipora Chattergul, Anantnag, flooding several residential structures. Locals reported several damaged homes, but no injuries or deaths. After two days of severe rain, surrounding waterways swelled, dumping debris and sludge into residential neighborhoods. Waterlogging, kucha home destruction, and store and road flooding have affected daily life in Budgam district, Central Kashmir. People are frustrated by the lack of administrative reaction. Many claim that district administration or local authorities have not visited impacted communities to assess damage or provide aid. “We are suffering badly, water has entered our homes and shops, and no official has come to see our plight,” claimed a Raiyar, Budgam resident.
