Divya Delhi:As rescue operations continue amidst ongoing flooding, the death toll from the Vietnam Typhoon has reached 233.According to official media, the number of people killed in Vietnam during a typhoon increased to 233 on Friday as rescuers found additional dead in regions affected by flash floods and landslides.Emergency personnel have already located 48 dead in the vicinity of Lang Nu, a tiny community in northern Lao Cai province was washed away by a Tuesday flood of water, mud, and debris from mountains, according to state-run television VTV. There are still 39 unaccounted for persons.Over 800 people have been hurt and 103 individuals are still reported as missing in Vietnam. The strongest typhoon to strike the nation of Southeast Asia in many years was named Yagi.The prime minister, Pham Minh Chinh, visited the location on Thursday and said that they would not give up on finding the missing people. Approximately 500 workers, including sniffer dogs, are on the scene.Chinh said, "Their families are in anguish." Eight people from two Lang Nu homes were discovered safe early on Friday morning, according to the state-run VNExpress newspaper, which is encouraging. When the flash flood occurred, they were out of the region.
