Divya Delhi: Congress and the BJP are at odds over Donald Trump's remarks on a $21 million voter turnout fund. Rahul Gandhi is being criticized by the BJP over remarks he made abroad. The remarks made by US President Donald Trump regarding a $21 million fund for voting turnout in India have sparked a furious dispute between the BJP and Congress. The BJP attempted to link Rahul Gandhi's remarks, in which he voiced alarm about the disregard for preserving India's democracy, with Trump's remarks. The Congress responded by requesting that the Indian government publish a report detailing the assistance that US agencies have provided to Indian government and non-government organizations throughout the years. Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior BJP leader, presented audio recordings of Rahul Gandhi and Donald Trump criticizing the Congress and its leader. Prasad declared, "What the Congress has done is a matter of shame." Rahul Gandhi has ridiculed Indian democracy outside and appealed to other democracies for assistance. It indicates that he looked for assistance to help him win because the Congress continues to lose elections. "Why do we need to spend $21 million for voter turnout in India?" asked Donald Trump in reference to his decision to halt USAID assistance. They must have been attempting to elect someone else. Trump's remarks against USAID were referred to as "nonsense" by the Congress. After BJP MP Mahesh Jethmalani questioned Veena Reddy's involvement in the money, the $21 million controversy turned to the former India head of the US Agency for International Development. "So, DOGE has discovered that USAID allocated $21 million for 'voter turnout' in India, a euphemism for paying voters to cast their votes in order to effect regime change," Mahesh Jethmalani said on his X account. As the leader of the Indian mission, Veena Reddy was dispatched to India (dangerous?). After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she apparently completed her voter turnout objective and went back to the United States. Unfortunately, she may have been questioned by the local investigative agency about who received the funds and how they were used for voter turnout efforts.
