Divya Delhi:   According to police, eight men were taken into custody in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl while she and her fiancé were sitting in a field. A case against ten suspects was filed at the Kasganj police station under the applicable sections of gang rape, extortion, and criminal intimidation. Around 2:30 pm, the survivor and her fiancé were sitting by a canal near a field when the suspects noticed her and insulted her modesty, according to Kasganj, Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma. Additionally, they stole some cash from the survivor's fiancé. In her complaint, the woman claimed that the suspects rode up and began making remarks. In a complaint cited by The Indian Express, she claimed, "They then took me to a secluded area and raped me." Five suspects were taken into custody by a combined Kasganj police and crime branch team, according to the police. Attempts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects in the crime.
