Divya Delhi:  The TRF, which carried out the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident, has been declared a terrorist organization by the US Department of State. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recognized that the organization claimed responsibility for the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people. The Department of State declares The Resistance Front (TRF) a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist today. Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) front and proxy TRF claimed responsibility for the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam incident that murdered 26 civilians. This was India's bloodiest civilian attack since LeT's 2008 Mumbai attacks. The statement said TRF had claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Indian security personnel, most recently in 2024. The statement stated the Department of State's steps show the Trump Administration's dedication to national security, counterterrorism, and President Trump's call for justice for the Pahalgam attack. TRF and other aliases have been added to LeT's FTO and SDGT status under section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Executive Order 13224. LeT's FTO status has been evaluated and maintained by the State Department. According to the statement, FTO designation changes take effect after publication in the Federal Register.
