Divya Delhi: Munich, Feb 16 (IANS) Security scenarios in the Indo-Pacific and North Korea were reviewed by the United States, Japan, and South Korea on the margins of the Munich Security Conference 2025.The US, Japan, and South Korea are committed to the safety, security, and prosperity of the three nations and the Indo-Pacific region, said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi, and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul. They reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearization of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolutions, expressing their serious concerns over the   nuclear and missile programs and malicious cyber activities. The trilateral cooperation vowed to take decisive efforts to address threats, boost economic resilience, and advance shared interests, condemning North Korea's human rights atrocities and nuclear and missile programs.They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defense and deterrence, and to the safety, security, and prosperity of their three nations and the Indo-Pacific region.President Donald Trump and Japan's Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba met in Washington, DC this week to confirm their commitment to a new golden age of relations between their countries that supports a free and open Indo-Pacific and promotes peace and prosperity.North Korean President Kim Jong Un has never hesitated to threaten the US and South Korea with nuclear war.In Kim threatened to destroy South Korea permanently with nuclear weapons if provoked. They oppose unilateral attempts to change the status quo in the Indo-Pacific, especially the South China Sea, and are committed to a free and open Indo-Pacific and international law.The partnership's principal goal is to fight China's assertive Indo-Pacific agenda and North Korea's nuclear threats.China and Japan are fighting over the Senkaku Islands in the North China Sea. The trilateral collaboration works together to improve its security infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific to oppose China's aggressiveness and keep peace.
