The railways would stop at Hathras to help 3,000 stampede victims return home. Around 3,000 people are returning home from a religious meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras area where a stampede killed 121. The railways have made special accommodations. The railway government stated all trains going through Sikandar Rau station must slow to 15 kmph for crowd safety. Many trains, including Mathura-Tanakpur Fair Special, Agra Fort-Kasganj Passenger Special, and Bandra Terminus Antyodaya Express, stop at Sikandar Rau and other stations for passenger convenience."A medical team under Dr Saurabh Dandiyal has been set up at the site for passengers who need first-aid treatment or any medical intervention," the government stated Tuesday night.The Ministry stated all stationgoers received water and food packets."We have kept three empty coaches ready at Kasganj station to move as special trains towards Sikandar Rau Station if needed," the agency stated.A Hathras religious gathering stampede killed 121 on Tuesday. Most victims were women and children. According to authorities, heat and humidity created suffocation in the 'Satsang' tent, causing panic and a stampede."Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner are present at the site along with other division officers," a Railway Board official said.
