Divya Delhi: After beating New Zealand, India is confident ahead of the Champions Trophy semi-final in Dubai on Tuesday. Hardik Pandya was once called India's most valuable white-ball player by former batsman Aakash Chopra, yet he always performed well under pressure. He again proved his worth in the final match of their formidable India, scoring 45 not out with four fours and a six to set India a daunting 249 mark. After Hardik Pandya's record-breaking 93 not out in the Second Test, former cricketer Aakash Chopra stated he can play and answer on large stages. Right Hardik if clutch. I am essentially saying he is India's most valued white-ball player, added Chopra. He hit six fours against New Zealand with ease playing length balls. Pressure is there, yet he bats last. He stayed till the end. When pressure is present, Chopra said, the person who rises to the occasion is important. Chopra said Pandya offers balance and benefits the Indian squad. He said, “Hardik is clutch that balances,” referring to his role if India needs two abroad pacemakers. Pandya is costly to drop because India would have had to deploy an additional fast bowler without him (Harshit Rana cannot go down). Chopra says Pandya is vital to India's setup.
