Divya Delhi: This Dakshina Kannada panchayat encourages the use of organic fertilizers and sets an example for farming.Chemicals are added to food items at every step of the process, from the first phases of sprouting to the end of harvesting, due to the widespread usage of chemical fertilizers. Organic farming, which use natural fertilizers like compost and manure as safer substitutes for chemical fertilizers, has gained popularity as a result of this rising concern. The government has started a number of initiatives to assist organic farming in order to facilitate this change. The creation of waste management units in each of the nation's gram panchayats is a noteworthy milestone. These devices are designed to break down organic waste and turn it into useful organic fertilizer that can be applied to crops in an environmentally friendly manner. The government hopes to promote ecologically friendly farming methods and lessen dependency on chemical fertilizers by doing this. Small earthworms, also referred to as composting worms, are especially useful among them. Large volumes of organic waste may be swiftly processed by them and turned into useful fertilizer. These worms are carefully handled throughout the composting process because of their important significance. The worms are segregated and given ideal conditions for reproduction once the fertilizer is created, guaranteeing a consistent supply for further composting projects.
