Divya Delhi: Farmers from 12 districts protested at Azad Maidan, Maharashtra. Vidarbha, Marathwada, and western Maharashtra farmers protested Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth expressway. They refused to authorize the project's land survey. Devendra Fadnavis told the state legislative council that the government will proceed with the project despite opposition. However, he said they would weigh farmer complaints. Farmers say it protects their fertile land. They declared they would fight regardless of political support. Since March 2023, farmers in the 12 areas where the Shaktipeeth expressway will pass have opposed it. They declined to offer land for the Shaktipeeth highway. March 2023 saw the Shaktipeeth expressway announced. An 802 km, six-lane access-controlled expressway is approved. The expressway will connect Nagpur to Goa via 12 Maharashtra and one Goan districts. Expressway maintenance will be handled by MSRDC. The Shaktipeeth expressway will cut travel time from 18–20 hours to 7–8. Both state commuters will profit. The expressway will pass through Mahalakshmi, Tuljabhavani, and Patradevi Shakti Peethas, hence its name. Maharashtra's largest highway is coming. The expressway will go from Pavnar in Wardha to Patradevi in North Goa. It will connect to Mumbai–Nagpur Expressway.
