Divya Delhi:  Due to festivals and usual weekend closures, banks nationwide will be closed for at least eight days in the last month of the fiscal year 2024–25. Notably, banks in practically every region will observe a holiday on the festival days, and March will also see the celebration of Holi and Eid. States including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand will observe Holika Dahan, a celebration that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, with a bank holiday on March 13, 2025. This celebration, sometimes called Chhoti Holi, takes place on the eve before Holi and includes a bonfire ceremony. Banks in many parts of India will celebrate Holi, which is marked by colorful celebrations that include the flinging of water and colored powders, on Friday, March 14. Gujarat, Odisha, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar are among the states that would have their banks closed on this day. Even during holidays when bank branches are closed, digital banking services like net banking will be accessible all year long. Unless maintenance is planned, customers can also utilize ATMs, UPI, mobile banking apps, and online banking. Additionally, on some days, services like opening recurring deposits or fixed deposits could also be available.
