Divya Delhi: After seeing major incompetence in the construction of the Aishbagh Railway Overbridge (ROB) near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav demanded strict action. An examination found eight Public Works Department (PWD) engineers responsible for following his orders. CM Yadav wrote on X, “I took cognisance of the serious negligence in the construction of the Aishbagh ROB and ordered an investigation. According to the investigative findings, 8 PWD engineers were disciplined.” Seven engineers, including two Chief Engineers, were suspended immediately. A retired Superintending Engineer was also investigated by the department. Project construction agency and design consultant were blacklisted by the government. They were found guilty of presenting a dangerous ROB design. The Chief Minister appointed a special group to reform the ROB to address structural challenges. He clarified that the bridge would not be open until all repairs were made. “The ROB will be inaugurated only after the improvements are made,” CM Yadav wrote. On Thursday, Yadav said he had ordered officials and the state minister to fix the objection lodged against a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) with 90-degree abrupt curves in Bhopal and punish the mistaken.
