Divya Delhi:  has reportedly warned Hamas that they will remain in Gaza until all hostages are released. Israel struck Gaza  ending the fragile ceasefire. The shelling ended two months of calm and led to the swap of hostages for Palestinian inmates.  Katz ordered the Israeli force to conquer more Gazan territory while evacuating the population. He also ordered soldiers to expand security zones surrounding the war-torn city to safeguard the IDF and Israeli residents. CNN quoted the defense minister as saying, “The more Hamas continues its refusal to release the kidnapped, the more territory it will lose to Israel.” Katz' comments came as Hamas stated it was conducting talks with mediators to restore the ceasefire from January 19 until Tuesday. Katz said Israel was following US President Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff's plan to free all captives, living and dead, “in advance and in two stages with a ceasefire in between – without endangering Israeli security interests.” Hamas stated Friday that it was considering a proposal from US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff to prolong the first part of the ceasefire-hostage pact through early April, CNN reported. It maintained its call for a permanent end to the conflict, saying it was exploring “various ideas on the table in a manner that aims to achieve a prisoner exchange deal that ensures the release of detainees, ends the war, and secures a withdrawal.
