Divya Delhi: Air India has been given a harsh warning by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for breaking the rules regarding flight duty time. Two Bangalore-London (AI133) flights in May 2025 exceeded the 10-hour aviation restriction, the authority concluded. The DGCA wrote a letter to Air India's management in August, advising them to exercise greater caution and adhere to all safety regulations. A show cause notice was issued in June, and Air India's response was declared "unsatisfactory." This action was taken as a result of the Show Cause Notice. The DGCA also ruled that the airline's accountable manager violated operating rules. As a response, a representative from Air India stated that the problem stemmed from an individual's failure to fully comprehend a specific authorization about airspace closures. They announced that the issue was resolved in a short amount of time when the appropriate rules were comprehended and that the airline "abides by the rules."
