Divya Delhi: In a new twist to Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya's death case, Abdul Fattah Mahdi, brother of victim Talal, has made severe claims against mediator Samuel Jerome. Abdul Mahdi claims Samuel stole big money during discussions. "He made incalculable amounts in negotiations, and the last one is $40,000." Mahdi further indicated that neither he nor any other family members had met him, called him, or texted him about this topic. Malayalam and international media, including the BBC, identified Samuel Jerome as Nimisha Priya's lawyer. According to Talal's brother Abdul Fattah Mahdi, Jerome is not a lawyer but represents the accused's family in Yemen. Jerome has never contacted or messaged Mahdi to discuss mediation, Mahdi claims. Mahdi says he encountered Jerome in Sana'a after the president sentenced Nimisha to death, where Jerome exclaimed “congratulations” and saw his relief. Mahdi also accuses Jerome of lying, taking $40,000 for mediation talks, and profiting from his brother's death.
