Divya Delhi:  After India's disappointing loss to Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, the BCCI is overhauling the national team's support personnel. The decision was made to overhaul and reconfigure the team for important matches. Assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, who joined eight months earlier, was fired. After India's poor red-ball results at home and abroad, fielding coach T. Dilip, strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai, and a team masseur were fired. These changes reflect BCCI's aim to restructure the support system after the batting unit struggled in the last home series against New Zealand and the BGT loss in Australia. After the batting unit's inconsistency earlier this year, the BCCI returned to Sitanshu Kotak, a trusted coach from the National Cricket Academy and India A infrastructure, to manage the team during white-ball responsibilities. The new-staffed team initially struggled, but Gautam Gambhir led them to victory and win the Champions Trophy, a high for Nayar, Kotak, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Morne Morkel, who were in the backroom staff.
