Divya Delhi:  Nita and Mukesh Ambani married on March 8, 1985, and today is their 40th wedding anniversary. Let's see what Nita wore on her special day to celebrate. Nita Ambani's wedding was beautiful. She mixed heritage and modern style in a simple, elegant, meaningful costume. Both sarees Nita wore included tie-and-dye bandhani work. A Panetar saree honored her mother's family, and a Gharchola honored her husband's. Her wedding dress deserves deeper inspection. Gharchola and Panetar are key Gujarati wedding elements. Panetars are white or ivory silk sarees with crimson or maroon borders, whereas Gharcholas are red and gold. The bride's family gives the Panetar while the groom's family gives the Gharchola to welcome her home. Nita Ambani added exquisite bangles, bracelets, a hand ornament (haath phool), a half-moon forehead jewelry (mang tika), and a nose ring to her lovely outfit. Traditional forehead bindis, mascara on her lashes, natural eyebrows, and little makeup. Last, Nita put her hair in a center-parted bun. Dancer Nita Ambani practices Bharatanatyam. Kokilaben and Dhirubhai Ambani noticed her 1984 dance performance. They set up her meeting with Mukesh Ambani. Mukesh Ambani proposed after 3 weeks of dating. He halted the car at a traffic signal on Pedder Road and refused to go until she accepted his proposal, even though automobiles were behind them.
