Divya Delhi: After kidney failure issues, veteran Telugu actor and comedian Fish Venkat, known as Venkat Raj, died Friday at a Hyderabad hospital. His age was 53. The actor suffered kidney problems for months, according to 123 Telugu. Hospitalization and intensive care followed his recent deterioration, and doctors advised an immediate kidney transplant. Venkat's condition worsened despite dialysis and ventilator support. Fish Venkat was a Telugu cinema icon with over 100 films, known for his excellent comic timing. Dasari Narayana Rao's Sammakka Sarakka introduced him to the industry. He gained fans and praise for his roles in Kushi, Bunny, Adhurs, Gabbar Singh, DJ Tillu, Slum Dog Husband, and Coffee with a Killer. In recent weeks, Venkat's daughter Shravanthi publicly requested funding for his kidney transplant, which was anticipated to cost Rs 50 lakh. The family emphasized that certain erroneous reports claimed actor Prabhas had offered financial aid, which was an impersonation scam. They told Suman TV, “Nothing like that happened. We answer every call to see if someone can help. Some unknown guy called us posing as Prabhas Anna's assistant. A false call was discovered later. Something like this is happening without his knowledge. Financial assistance has not yet arrived.”
