Divya Delhi: The Kashmir Valley is seeing a dramatic change in contrast to the global tattoo culture trend, where many young people are embracing body art. Over 100,000 tattoos have been successfully removed by Basit Bashir, a committed tattoo removal practitioner at the Valley Care Tattoo Removing Clinic in Srinagar. A significant portion of these tattoos include AK-47 weapons. Hundreds of young people from the area visit the clinic every day to have their tattooed pasts erased, making it a hive of activity in recent months. Many of these young people worry about the ramifications of having rifle tattoos because they want to respect religious feelings and are afraid of security personnel's attention. "The majority of these kids are either afraid to get rifle tattoos or are rethinking their decisions because of their religious convictions," Basit said.
