Divya Delhi:  NASA astronauts Sunita Williams, Butch Wimore, Nick Hague, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov began their return to Earth on the SpaceX Dragon. The hatch closes at 8:45 am IST on March 18, 2025, for NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 return home. Entering the Dragon spacecraft and sealing the hatch between them and the ISS prepares the astronauts for undocking. NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are returning home after nine months on the ISS. The pair launched on Boeing's Starliner in June 2024 for a brief mission, but technical issues delayed them. On SpaceX's Crew Dragon spaceship, they prepare for their catastrophic descent and splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean. NASA will livestream the touchdown in the early hours of March 19, 2025. NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, undocked from the Harmony module's space-facing port on the SpaceX Dragon spaceship at 10:35 a.m. IST on March 18. The capsule is correcting its trajectory and prepares for atmospheric re-entry on its 17-hour return to Earth. Live return coverage of the Crew-9 mission will begin on NASA+ from 2:15 a.m. IST on Wednesday, March 19, before Dragon's expected splashdown at 3:27 a.m. IST off Florida.
