Divya Delhi : In 2019, Delhi's first Punjabi beauty contest, Sunakhi Punjaban, promoted Punjabi culture and customs. Over the last five seasons, it has become a lively beacon honoring Punjabi culture and highlighting its geographical diversity and linguistic subtleties.On auditions for Sunakhi Punjaban's sixth season started at Bhartiya Vidyapeeth Institute of Computer Applications and Management in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. Delhi. 100 competitors from Delhi, Punjab areas including Sangrur, Patiala, Taran Taran, Kharar, Gurdaspur, Barnala, Husnar, Mansa, Haryana, Noida, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Banaras, and Mathura participated this season.Adv. Maninder Kaur (Advocate), Author Sherry (Renowned Public Speaker and founder of MS Talks), Dr. Harmeet Kaur, Dr. Rattandeep Kaur, Davinder Kaur Geet, and Taranjit Kaur were revered judges for the offline auditions. Gagandeep, Gurjeet Singh, Aazmeen Kaur Kharbanda, and Harpreet Kaur evaluated the online auditions. Jasleen Kaur Gotra, a respected broadcaster, hosted the auditions.Dr. Avneet Kaur Bhatia founded Sunakhi Punjaban to conserve and promote Punjabi culture, where talent, not height, weight, or marital status, matters. Talent and confidence are assessed during pageant auditions. After auditions, 25–28 competitors will be trained for the Grand Finale. The grooming programs include yoga, ramp walks, and Punjabi language coursesAfter months of preparation, contestants will perform dancing, mono acting, singing, and more in the Grand Finale to promote women's empowerment and societal concerns.
