Start of Char Dham Yatra 2025! Special Security for Over 22 Lakh Pilgrims

Divya Delhi:  Char Dham Yatra 2025 began Wednesday, April 30. On Akshaya Tritiya, worshipers entered Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines in Uttarkashi district with Vedic hymns. Prajapati Nautiyal, Special Duty Officer, said around 22 lakh pilgrims registered at Rishikesh Transit Camp and left for their destination. The Uttarakhand government prioritizes Char Dham Yatra pilgrims' safety. Nautiyal said pilgrims are protected by special mobile security units. Yatris also receive assistance from police at other sites. Early Monday in Haridwar, Yatra offline registrations began. Special registration counters are available for disabled, elderly, and foreigners. District Tourism Officer Shushil Nautiyal added 20 free registration counters. For Akshaya Tritiya, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami prayed at Gangotri Dham and opened Yamunotri Dham earlier in the morning. He also conducted aarti at Shri Yamunotri Dham's Yamunotri shrine later that day.
