Divya Delhi: EV component supplier Sona BLW Precision Forgings' shares rose about 7% after a report stated BYD is in talks with the company. CNBC-TV18 said that the Indian company may build a Chinese component factory. According to CNBC-TV18 sources, Sona BLW Precision Forgings is in advanced talks with BYD to establish a Chinese component production unit. The unit may be part of Sona BLW's long-term strategy to strengthen its BYD collaboration. Sona BLW supplies EV components to Tesla, BYD's main competitor, for a large portion of its revenue. The company's stock rose sharply after the report due to large trading volumes. Over 1.26 crore shares traded at 12:10 pm, roughly five times the 10-day average. Sona BLW shares rose 8% in five days to Rs 488 in afternoon trade. In the previous month, the stock has fallen 2% and almost 15% in the last six months. The stock has lost roughly 18% in 2025, indicating volatility.
