Divya Delhi: The BJP ousted Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal for six years for party discipline infractions. After months of internal tensions, Yatnal targeted the state leadership despite warnings. Letter issued. Om Pathak, member secretary of the BJP's national disciplinary committee, said the MLA's response to the February 10 show-cause letter was considered, but his resistance led to expulsion. "The central disciplinary committee of the party has considered your response to the show cause notice dated 10th February 2025 and has taken serious note of your repeated violations of the party discipline, despite your assurances of good behaviour and conduct in response to earlier show cause notices," the note said. "Therefore, you are expelled from the party's primary membership for six years and removed from any party position. Yatnal declined media questions on Wednesday night after the suspensions. Yatnal criticized Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra and his father, former chief minister BS Yediyurappa, hours before his expulsion, saying they had undermined the party's authority in the state.
