Divya Delhi: Karnataka Home Minister: Following violence during the Ganesh parade, the situation in Nagamangala is now peaceful.Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Saturday that efforts have been made to ensure that no undesirable incidences occur and that Nagamangala town, which has been plagued by violence in the Mandya district, is now tranquil.Tension on Wednesday night resulted from clashes between two groups that had occurred during the town's Ganesh idol procession. After that, crowds went on the rampage, pelting stones at several establishments and cars. The Home Minister said, "Let them find the facts and inform us, and if there is any fact from their fact finding, we will look into it," when asked about the BJP sending a fact-finding team to Nagamangala. It will somewhat simplify our task. In a week, the BJP panel, which includes state secretary Lakshmi Ashwin Gowda, retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao, former ministers Byrathi Basavaraj, K C Narayana Gowda, and MLA C N Ashwath Narayan, will visit the site and provide a detailed report to the party. When the Ganesh idol procession by devotees from Badri Koppalu village arrived at a site of worship on Wednesday, some miscreants threw stones, which worsened the situation, according to police. An altercation had broken out between two groups.
