Divya Delhi: The Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) crew posted their first in-flight update from orbit early Wednesday, describing their experience on the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft en route to the ISS. Axiom Space posted on X, “Tune in LIVE with the #Ax4 crew for their FIRST in-flight event at 01:47 AM EDT.” SpaceX said that the first live session with the Ax-4 crew on-orbit will occur in around 15 minutes at ~1:47 a.m. ET this morning. Mission pilot Indian Air Force (IAF) Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla called the launch “magical” and reminisced on his experience during the live session. “I am thrilled to be here with my fellow astronauts—what a ride. Honestly, as I sat in the capsule ‘Grace’ on the launchpad yesterday after 30 days of quarantine, I just wanted to leave. It was different when the launch happened. Silence follows being shoved back into the seat. It's amazing to float in the vacuum, Shukla added. I greatly appreciate everyone who helped make this adventure possible. It's ours, not just mine, he said. “This swan symbolizes wisdom and grace,” he said of Dragon's swan mascot. It may seem like a coincidence, but it represents serenity, strength, and purpose to me.” Recounting the final minutes before liftoff, Shukla stated, "We were in the capsule for about three hours, and while the wait can feel lengthy, launch was unlike anything we expected. Long-term training for those few minutes and seconds. I was glad to finally experience it.”
