Divya Delhi: The plains were battered by sporadic rains, which caused temperatures to drop, while the upper regions of Kashmir saw new snowfall. In Bandipora, north Kashmir, moderate snowfall was recorded in places like Tulail and Gurez, which caused important highways to close and school activities to be suspended. Due to the ongoing snowfall and bad weather, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Gurez ordered that lessons be suspended up to the eighth standard in Tulail and up to the fifth standard in Gurez Tehsil. The choice was taken as a preventative step to guarantee schoolchildren's safety. According to officials, the Gurez-Bandipora route, which serves as a crucial conduit between the isolated border area and the rest of the Valley, has been closed to traffic due to the recent snowfall.
