Divya Delhi: Supreme Court expressed disapproval on the words of YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia during his guest participation on a show India’s Got Latent. The Supreme Court asked Allahbadia's counsel what obscenity and vulgarity are. The Apex Court denounced such behavior. "Can someone who thinks he's popular and can say anything take society for granted?" Will anyone on Earth enjoy this language? The Supreme Court observed, "Something very dirty in his mind has been vomited." Justice Surya Kanta further remarked, “If you can seek cheap publicity by using abusive language, this person (who has threatened the petitioner) extending the threat is also seeking publicity.” His statement addressed the YouTuber's threats after social media criticism. The Supreme Court has granted Ranveer Allahbadia interim protection from arrest in connection with the various FIRs submitted against him across India over his recent indecent comments during the show. The highest court stated that no further FIR shall be lodged against him on the basis of episode telecast on show India’s Got Latent. Allahbadia was told to give his passport to police. He can't leave the country without court approval from now on. The Supreme Court issued notifications on his plea to club FIRs and put an interim stay on arrest on FIRs in Maharashtra, Assam, and Jaipur, pending his joining inquiry. Allahbadia can ask local police in Maharashtra and Assam for protection if he is threatened and cannot join the probe.
