Divya Delhi: Sarfaraz Khan got attention after shedding 17 kgs in two months. Despite great achievements, he has been sidelined for a long period by the Indian team. In his Test debut against England in Rajkot last year, Sarfaraz Khan scored 62 and 68 in the first and second innings. He had a great debut but was cut from the Indian team. Sarfaraz last played a Test match against New Zealand in November 2024, scoring a single in the second innings after a duck in the first. He has since excelled in domestic cricket, including a century on India A's England trip before the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He even received criticism for his weight, but his impressive transformation silenced them. Sarfaraz Khan's father Naushad recounted his difficult weight loss journey. “Our diet is very controlled. We stopped eating roti, rice, etc. Roti and rice haven't been consumed at home in 1–1.5 months. It's broccoli, carrot, cucumber, salad, and green vegetable salad. Other foods include grilled fish, chicken, boiled chicken, and eggs. We have green tea and coffee, Naushad told Hindustan Times. We eat avocados. There are sprouts. The major thing is that we quit eating roti and rice. We stopped eating sugar. We stopped eating maida and bread goods.”
