Divya Delhi : RCB was the first club ousted from WPL 2025 in the first round after losing by 12 runs against UP Warriorz at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow March 8. Georgia Voll scored 99 runs off 56 balls to help UP Warriorz score 225/5 in 20 overs. RCB's failed attempt to reach the target led to their early elimination as title defenders. Royal Challengers Bangalore chased 226 runs until the bowlers gave up at 213 in 19.3 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh scored 69 runs off 33 balls, but her team lost. RCB dropped to last in the points standings with two wins and four points from seven games after its loss. After this loss, the defending champions were eliminated from the Women's Premier League 2025. RCB's captain Smriti Mandhana was removed for four runs in the first inning, threatening their run chase. RCB lost their last three wickets as they reached 76 runs in 6.5 overs, despite Ellyse Perry's 28 runs off 15 balls and Sabbhineni Meghana's 27 runs off 12 balls. Richa Ghosh's aggressive batting included six fours and five sixes gave RCB's batting run much of its offensive potency before other batters fell off. The quickfire 26 runs Sneh Rana scored in her 14th over six-ball appearance gave RCB some comfort, but their tournament ended.
