Rainfall across India! Red Alerts for Odisha, Jharkhand, Rajasthan.
Divya Delhi: The monsoon has intensified throughout various states, causing severe rainfall across the country. Due to this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued repeated alerts for heavy rainfall in several places. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya are under heavy rain alerts in the north and northeast. The monsoon trough crosses Suratgarh, Rohtak, Fatehgarh, Gaya, Digha, and northeast Bay of Bengal. Northwestern states may get higher rainfall till August 26, while Gujarat and Rajasthan may see showers through August 28. An eastward cyclonic circulation will affect West Bengal and nearby areas all week. Friday will bring rain to Jharkhand and Odisha. Heavy rain is forecast in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from August 22 to 27, and in Arunachal Pradesh till August 25. The IMD predicts isolated significant rainfall across South Peninsular India in the coming days. Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh may expect heavy showers on August 26–28, and on August 22, 26, and 27. Tamil Nadu and Telangana may get light to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Additionally, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and central Karnataka may get heavy rain for the following five days.
