Rain, thunder predicted across India until March 5 - see statewise forecast

Divya Delhi:  Weather in India is shifting due to Western disturbances. The India Meteorological Department predicts light to moderate rain/snowfall with thunderstorms on February 28. This location may get 40-50 km/h gusts. On February 28, isolated areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Uttarakhand may see severe rain and snowfall. Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh may have mild to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning on February 28. Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan may see isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms until March 1. Northwest India will experience a new Western Disturbance on March 2. It may provide isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh from March 2 to 5, and similar circumstances in Uttarakhand from March 2 to 4. On March 3, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh may get light to moderate rain and snow. On February 27, the India Meteorological Department predicts scattered to widespread rains with thunderstorms and lightning over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Similar circumstances are predicted for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep from February 27 to March 1. On February 28 and March 1, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe may see heavy rainfall.The India Meteorological Department predicts isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Arunachal Pradesh on February 28 and March 1 and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on February 27 and 28. Assam and Meghalaya may also experience thunderstorms and lightning on February 28 and March 1, with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph on February 28. Arunachal Pradesh may get heavy rain on March 1.
