Divya Delhi:  Over the past 24 hours, Kashmir has had sporadic light to moderate rain and snowfall, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This pattern is projected to continue till March 16, with severe precipitation and snowfall predicted on March 13, 14, and 15. The upper parts of Kashmir have seen moderate to severe snowfall during the past 24 hours, while the plains have seen rain. Hilly regions such as Sadhna Top, Machil, Keran sector, Gulmarg, Gurez Valley, Razdan Top, Zojila Pass, Sonamarg, and other high-altitude regions have had significant snowfall. The plains, including Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, have seen rainfall, which has caused the valley's temperature to plummet. According to the IMD, March 13, 14, and 15 will see the most rain and snowfall in Kashmir. "Higher elevations can also experience heavy snowfall," a weather forecaster stated. An orange notice has been issued by the IMD, reminding tourists, travelers, and transporters to follow traffic and administrative advisories. From March 10 to March 16, farmers are recommended to abstain from any agricultural activity. "Avoid standing in avalanche-prone areas," reads the alert warning. Authorities have warned tourists to verify road conditions before beginning their trip because bad weather might cause avalanches and landslides in vulnerable locations.
