Divya Delhi:  Persian New Year is called Nowruz, which means "new day" in Persian. According to the Iranian calendar, today is the first day of the year and the start of spring. It typically occurs on or near March 20th or 21st, depending on when the spring equinox occurs. Though it has its roots in Zoroastrianism and has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years, millions of people from many different nations, including Iranians and Central Asians, now celebrate Nowruz. In some regions of India, particularly among the Parsi and Irani groups, Nowruz is a holiday. These communities are Zoroastrian. This day is celebrated with great zeal and passion by people in places like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa. I'm wishing you an unlimited supply of blessings, joy, and laughter on Nowruz.
