Divya Delhi :  Gal Gadot, who has spoken out against the Gaza war, received a Walk of Fame star on March 18. Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protestors battled and marred the ceremony. Variety reported dozens of demonstrators near the area before the event. Pro-Palestinian protesters hoisted signs stating "Heroes Fight Like Palestinians," "No Other Land Won Oscar," and "Viva Viva Palestina." Protesters caused substantial disturbance on Hollywood Boulevard despite tenting. The audience shouted "Up up with liberation, down down with occupation" and "Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel's crime." A protester told the publication he opposed honoring Gadot. "There’s no reason we should be celebrating an Israeli," he said, accusing the actor of "keeping her head in the sand." A pro-Palestinian protester snatched an Israeli flag and fled, prompting police intervention. Filmmaker Patty Jenkins, actor Vin Diesel, and Shira Haas attended the Walk of Fame event led by Steve Nissen. Gadot stated, "I’m just a girl from a town in Israel, this star will remind me that with hard work and passion and some faith, anything is possible." You took a chance on a complete unknown and brought me to the Fast and Furious family, talk about starting big," she said to Vin Diesel. Your trust in me altered my life after my first film." She ended by calling them "family."
