Divya Delhi:On the anniversary of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee's death, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial in New Delhi.Standing at Delhi's "Sadev Atal" memorial, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid their respects to the late prime minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday, the sixth anniversary of his death. Not only that, but many other notable people, such as union ministers and party leaders, came to pay their respects as well. Among India's most illustrious political leaders, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).After a long illness, he passed away on August 16, 2018, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He was prime minister for two terms, beginning in 1998 and ending in 2004, in addition to his 1996 stint. On December 25, which is also Good Governance Day, he was born. He was even presented with the Bharat Ratna in 2015.Visits to "Sadaiv Atal," a tribute to the late Bharat Ratna–winning prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, were paid by President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday.Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a BJP leader, paid tribute to the late prime minister. At Raj Ghat, he paid his respects by presenting flower tributes to Vajpayee's samadhi. Modi had earlier praised Vajpayee for his patriotism on X.Atal Ji is remembered on this, the Punya Tithi. In his unwavering commitment to the betterment of India, he remains an inspiration to those who work toward building a modern, independent nation, Prime Minister Modi remarked.
