Divya Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched four new Amrit Bharat trains in Bihar's Motihari and laid the foundation stone of nearly Rs 7,200 crore in development initiatives. These Amrit Bharat trains would run from Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) to New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari to Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal), Darbhanga to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), and Malda Town to Lucknow via Bhagalpur. At the Griha Pravesh ceremony for 12,000 recipients, PM Modi gave keys to certain beneficiaries and distributed over Rs 160 crore to 40,000 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin beneficiaries. He gave Rs 400 crore to 61,500 Bihar Self-Help Groups under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Over 10 crore women are connected to Self-Help Groups, which focus on women-led development.PM Modi's visit precedes the state's Assembly elections later this year. PM Modi dedicated many train projects to the nation to improve connectivity and infrastructure. Automatic signalling on the Samastipur-Bachhwara rail line will improve train operations. The Darbhanga-Samastipur doubling project, worth about Rs 580 crore, will double the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail lines to increase train capacity and eliminate delays.
