Divya Delhi: Around 10 p.m. today, a second US plane carrying 119 deported Indian nationals is scheduled to land at Punjab's Amritsar airport under US President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown. Punjab accounts for 67 of them, Haryana for 33, Gujarat for eight, Uttar Pradesh for three, Goa, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan for two, and Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir for one.Tomorrow, a third aircraft carrying the deportees is also anticipated to touch down in India.Until all unauthorized immigrants have returned, the deportations are expected to continue biweekly, with similar planes returning Indian nationals in the upcoming weeks. On February 5, the first US military aircraft transporting 104 Indians who had been deported touched down. Of them, thirty came from Punjab, three from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, two from Chandigarh, and thirty-three each from Haryana and Gujarat. Promises of lawful immigration into the US had cost many of these migrants a significant sum of money. Rather, they underwent exhausting, cross-country journeys organized by human traffickers.Horror stories regarding the way the Indians were carried from the United States to India began to circulate as soon as they landed. The migrants were also seen with their legs chained and handcuffed in a video released by the US Border Patrol. The Indians were seen to be walking shuffledly as they got off the aircraft, which is a common trait of seasoned crooks.
