Divya Delhi:Under the determined leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya armed forces demonstrated wonderful bravery by carrying out Operation Sindoor, which destroyed important Pakistani air bases and terrorist infrastructures in retaliation for the horrific Pahalgam murder. Notably, this conflict between Pakistan and India was being waged on a semiotic, symbolic, and narrative battlefield in addition to using weaponry. In this arena, Bharat not only triumphed over Pakistan but also showcased its moral superiority, rich cultural heritage, and soft power on the global stage. The science of signs and symbols, or semiotics, holds that symbols are extremely important in combat. These days, analogies, cultural allusions, symbolism, and classical imagery are used in addition to weaponry in wars. Following in the footsteps of famous semiotician Charles Sanders Peirce, these symbols serve as tools of legitimacy, persuasion, and power in addition to being purely decorative. They elicit powerful emotional reactions, justify a country's activities, bring its citizens together, and represent its collective consciousness and ideological core.
