Divya  Delhi:  Kolkata Knight Riders fans are criticizing their 2021 IPL auction decision to keep Venkatesh Iyer instead of Shubman Gill. The ex-KKR player and GT captain Gill played against his former side in Eden Gardens. GT won the match by 39 runs. Fans are criticizing KKR for releasing Gill after seeing his brilliant performance in yesterday's match, when he scored 90 runs in 55 balls and shared 114 runs with Sai Sudharsan. However, Iyer was dismissed after 14 runs in 19 balls. This led the fans to criticise KKR for letting Gill go when they should have retained him and spending 23.75 Cr. on retaining Venkatesh Iyer. After seeing Venkatesh Iyer’s bad performance in yesterday’s match people are trolling his and calling him fraud and calling KKR’s management dumb for spending 23.75 Cr. for retaining a player like him who displayed such a bad batting performance.
