Divya Delhi:  Allahabad High Court ordered Sambhal Mosque cleaning. The ASI said whitewashing was unnecessary, prompting this step. The ASI reported today that the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal did not need whitewashing before Ramadan. The mosque management committee claimed that whitewashing is necessary and the ASI report is erroneous, thus Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal's bench gave the committee time to respond or object. The court ordered the mosque building cleaned, including dust removal inside and out. The High Court asked the Archaeological Survey of India to evaluate the mosque before Ramadan to determine whitewashing and repair needs. The Allahabad High Court just allows cleaning and not whitewashing the mosque.
