Divya DElhi: About 10 Gautam Budh Nagar universities have taken action against students who ride two-wheelers without helmets or drive without seat belts to enhance road safety. These institutions have banned students who don't wear helmets or seatbelts, according to media reports. University security is instructed to enforce these rules. Siyaram Verma, Gautam Budh Nagar Assistant Regional Transport Officer, told Hindustan Times, “The goal is to ensure road safety compliance and save lives. Thank you, universities and institutions, for supporting this cause.” Helmet-breaking students have been denied admission by the university. To guarantee road safety compliance, transport department officials have issued several notices. Officials say Uttar Pradesh's transport department ordered two-wheeler drivers to wear helmets before getting fuel at petrol stations. A representative for Amity University told Hindustan Times, “In line with government directives, we have made it mandatory for all two-wheeler riders to wear helmets and four-wheeler drivers to use seat belts before entering the university premises. We will enforce this regulation and take action against violators.”
