Divya Delhi:In his speech on Independence Day 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that "next-generation GST reforms" would be disclosed around Diwali as a "Double Diwali" gift to the Indian people. In his speech on the 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that he had a Diwali present for the citizens of our nation. On the Red Fort ramparts, he said the new GST reforms will be a Diwali gift to the nation. "I'm going to give you a double Diwali this year. This Diwali, a large gift will be given to the citizens. Next-generation GST reforms are what we're bringing. The national tax burden will be lessened as a result. In his speech to the country, he declared, "This will be a gift before Diwali." PM Modi said the GST regime merging several taxes and local levies was a major development eight years ago. The government simplified the tax system and reduced the nationwide tax load. After eight years of the indirect tax system, it was time to consider these adjustments, he said, since the introduction of the GST on July 1. After consulting with states and a high-powered committee, the administration drafted new GST amendments. The taxes on goods for the average person will be significantly lowered as a result. Our MSMEs will gain a tremendous deal. "We will strengthen our economy by lowering the cost of everyday items," PM Modi stated.
