Divya Delhi:   An incredible world record in international cricket has been set as cricket fans in India prepare for the Indian Premier League (IPL) to begin on March 22. At 62 years and 147 days, Andrew Brownlee, a member of the Falkland Islands International Cricket Team, became the oldest male cricket player to debut for his country. He accomplished this in a March 10 match against Costa Rica, well over the average cricketer's retirement age. Brownlee's debut at age 62 is unique, even if several great players, like MS Dhoni, who still plays in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings, have extended their careers past 40. Brownlee played in a three-match series against Costa Rica on behalf of the Falkland Islands. In his two bowling appearances, he went wicketless and only scored six runs despite his expertise. The Falkland Islands became the 106th team to play international cricket with the series. With three players over 56 and all but two of the playing XI over 40, the club is notable for having a number of seasoned players.
