Divya Delhi:  Our country's essential security has been shamefully neglected by all involved institutions. Punjab Police's attack on an Indian Army Colonel and his kid should have outraged the nation. A decade ago, the army would have demanded justice. There's little reaction today. This signals internal and external issues. The decline of state institutions is accompanied by an uncaring society without morals. Both significantly impact national security. First, the incident. A parking conflict led to serious police brutality against the officer and his kid, according to footage. Whether the officer was impolite to cops is unclear. Even with profanity, the cops should have notified the nearest military authorities of a prospective detention. The Code of Criminal Procedure prohibits civilian authorities from arresting military people unless for murder. This brutality crosses all boundaries. More cases may be coming. Days later, a soldier was arrested, attacked, and jailed after arguing with an inebriated Inspector. Even worse, the courts detained him for 20 days. Another example had an Army Major in Odisha and his fiancé going to a police station for help after being attacked by youths, only to be assaulted and arrested.
