Divya Delhi: According to  eight people have died in a stampede that occurred at Haridwar's Mansa Devi temple. According to the District Administration, 30 people have been hurt. Images taken at the scene indicated that the wounded were quickly sent to the hospital for treatment. Rescue activities were carried out at the scene by the fire brigade and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The tragic event happened at around 9 in the morning when a big group of worshippers was making their way to the shrine on top of the hill. The throng got out of hand "Just twenty-five or twenty-seven steps before the temple premises," said one injured person. Along with ten or twelve others, I fell... Three of my relatives have been located, while two remain missing. There are three ways to access the temple, according to Mahant Ravindra Puri, President of the Mansa Devi Temple Trust. One is via a ropeway, the other is via a motorized way, and an old route begins immediately from Har Ki Pauri. "There are no indications of such happening, but this is not an incident of electrocution," he continued. We shall aid the relatives of the victims. The police responded swiftly after receiving reports of injuries, according to SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal, who spoke earlier on Sunday. Sixteen bodies have been identified among the approximately thirty-five persons sent to the hospital. Everyone else is having therapy right now... The rumor of an electric shock on steps 100 meters down the temple route appears to have been the initial spark that set off the rush. Additional investigation is underway... The temple is once again available for darshan, and all necessary safety measures have been taken, according to the most recent update.
